SOUNDS OF COMMUNITY
Creating Community, One Connection at a Time

Sounds of Community (formerly ‘Community Connections’) provides music therapy and music wellness programs to support individuals, families, and local agencies.  We specialize in leveraging the skills and talents of our staff and volunteers to develop customized programs to enhance quality of life, resilience, family bonding, stress relief, and community development.

“The Hausmann Quartet and Resounding Joy have provided an invaluable service to the families residing in our temporary shelter in Golden Hall. Our resident families look forward each week to sharing this adventurous, exciting and educational time… [Family Jam Sessions] allow families to have fun together, to de-stress, and to learn a little about music… I highly recommend this program for families, adults and children of all ages.”

Joy Givers

Recreational Music to Empower Seniors

The Resounding Joy Joy Giver program brings the familiarity of favorite songs to seniors enrolled in adult day care programs, assisted living facilities, and memory-care facilities throughout the greater San Diego area. The first and longest-running Resounding Joy outreach program, we train community volunteers who, under the guidance and supervision of board-certified music therapists, provide seniors with invaluable social experiences as well as improved quality of life.
