Title: Art Talk with Megan Wong: Songs of Healing

November 11th is an important day for veterans every year as they are recognized for their honorable service to the US military. The National Endowment of the Arts has a healing arts initiative that helps serve veterans and active duty military in need of music therapy services. Even though community efforts are just getting underway, a particular organization called Resounding Joy Inc. has a program called Semper Sound, which provides music therapy to military service members and veterans with PTSD, substance abuse, and other stress and trauma-related diagnoses. NEO spoke with Megan Wong, a credentialed music therapist and director of Semper Sound, who shares her insights about the importance of music therapy and how their program has made a tremendous impact on the community.
